The Maharajas' Express

From the moment you are welcomed aboard, with a red carpet and warm traditional greeting, you enjoy a truly 5-star experience on wheels. From panoramic windows we witness ever-changing scenery, stopping to absorb the vibrant spirit and wondrous sights of India. Our route aboard this luxury service starts in Delhi and includes time to explore the 'Pink City' of Jaipur and the Amber Fort, Ranthambore National Park, Agra and the Taj Mahal, Orcha Fort and the temple city of Varanasi.

Outstanding dining and impeccable service

The Maharajas' Express offers the ultimate in grandeur, elegance and comfort. On board are two sumptuous restaurant cars, where an array of Indian and international cuisine - freshly prepared by on-board chefs - is served by highly attentive, unobtrusive staff. Complimentary house wines and beer are served while dining. There is also a bar car, with two bars - the Rajah Club lounge offers a relaxed atmosphere with a collection of books and board games, and an excellent selection of beers, wines and spirits. The Safari Bar is suitable for group meetings and serves as a venue for festive events.

Opulent interiors and comfortable guest cabins

The train's tasteful décor is inspired by the carriages of Indian royalty, with rich tapestries and antiques. Our accommodation is in Deluxe cabins which are beautifully decorated, equipped with every comfort, and feature panoramic windows. These generously-sized cabins are ensuite and feature either a double bed, or twin lower-berth beds. Facilities include air-conditioning, an LCD television, a DVD player, telephone, safe and wardrobe, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are ensuite and equipped with bathrobes, slippers, a hairdryer and complimentary luxury toiletries.

The train has a team of butlers to attend to the need of passengers. Each carriage is manned by a dedicated butler, on call 24 hours, who takes pride in offering a unique and attentive service to each guest, to ensure they have a comfortable and memorable stay on board. Tea, coffee, water and snacks are inclusive and available at all times. Upgrades to Junior Suites and Suite Cars are also available.
