About the tour
Discover the spirit of Norway in summertime, beginning with guided tours and time to explore vibrant Oslo and charming Bergen before embarking on a wonderful six-night Arctic cruise through some of the world's most magical fjords.
We mark the crossing of the Arctic Circle with a ceremony, then continue into Norway's Arctic region, experiencing the extraordinary midnight sun, seeing Scandinavia's largest glacier and encountering wildlife such as the majestic sea eagle. This remarkable voyage north takes us through the Lofoten Isles, a unique archipelago with a fascinating heritage.

Itinerary
Our holiday starts this morning when we meet our Tour Manager and co-travellers at London Heathrow before boarding a direct flight to Norway's dynamic capital, Oslo.
On arrival, we travel by efficient Norwegian rail to Oslo's Central Station where we check into our hotel, close to the celebrated Norwegian Opera House. There's free time to settle in and get to know our surroundings, before we take a short walk to a local restaurant for the first dinner with our group.

A wonderful holiday, covering interesting cities and villages, stunning scenery, and fascinating insights into the history and modern life in Norway. The Havila ship exceeded my expectations - I was expecting a ferry but it was a mini cruise ship (battery powered)! We were blessed with lovely weather and virtually no daytime rain. The Tour Manager was excellent. She shepherded us subtly and provided first rate additional information about everything we did.

Guide was very good, all well organised, accomodation was of a good standard, boat a bit noisy overnight, but most didn't seem to notice. Saw lots of Norway, missed the Aurora but that's a weather issue.

Well organised trip but Oslo guide was not the best. Trondheim guide much better but hotel was a bit out of centre. Tour Manager was excellent. Ship facilities were very good and catering was good but there was no attempt to produce dishes which had been prepared without vinegar, which was notified as an allergy of my wife. On one occasion she was presented with four different small salad dishes for her meal. Great emphasis had been given to the need to notify of this allergy but there was no evidence this had been passed to the caterers.
